A shooting associate of ours wreaked his vehicle and needs to sell from his gun collection. Bad for him but good for me I think
He's got a Ruger 1B in the 280Rem cal. that he's selling for $450. I saw the gun tonight and there's not a scratch or ding on it! I was told that not even a full box of ammo has been through it. I've never priced these guns and need to know if $450 sound good for in the condition I described? The gun is also scope but with a cheap one on it now! I'd dump it and put a leupold on it instead. The rings on it look to be in good shape but they are not your regular rings, their set back. Anyone know about the scope rings for the Ruger single shot rifles?
That sounds like a pretty good deal to me! You are probably not getting away with a "steal," but a pretty good bargain, especially if it is as new as claimed!
However, I've rarely seen anyone sell a gun that was not "almost brand new" and "less than a box of shells through it!"
But, thats easy enough to see through! It sounds like a good buy to me!

Thanks for the input and for the new site there Moose_Maximus! I think I've always heard the same thing JagMagMan, "it's almost brand new" and "less than a box of shells through it". After my inspection the gun, I'd put it in the 95-100% as far as the condition of it. Thanks again
Ruger #1's run new for @$600+. Gun, w/rings included. If the guns outside looks that good its probably in good shape inside also. Good caliber, good gun, good price = good deal. I personally love #1's. If you dont like send it to me!
The price is good for a 1-b, that is about what they go for around here . The offset ring is to resolve the eyerelief problem that seems to be common with low end scopes and Ruger 1-b's . I never had that problem using a leupold scope on mine.
