RE: kimber's 22
I have a Kimber Classic Varmint (.22) on order right now... I am paying $835 on it, but that is because my friends friend is a master dealer... I think the price range is around $800 for the hunter up to about $1350 for the Super america.
A couple of things you should know, these are beautiful guns and are more than accurate for any hunting you will do.
Some of the negatives I have heard is that they have a left-handed twist (I do not really know why this is relevant, but the target shooters list it is a negative). You should not expect Anshuntz or Cooper accuracy. In other words Kimber is a poor choice as target .22.
Another positive is that they are built like their centerfire rifles and are capable of being dry fired (you won't find many .22's like that). You will then be able to find the matching centerfire model and have a set, which to me is really nice.
I am getting one because I feel I got a good deal, I think the gun is the most beautiful .22 for the price and I will not be using it for competitive target shooting.
By the way, Weaver makes a 2-7x scope for around $125, which should be a great scope for any Kimber. Also for future reference go to Gunbroker.com to look up what gun prices currently are, it is a good starting point.
