Default Nikon Prostaff

Getting ready to have a new scope put on the savage 30-06. Was leaning toward a leupold vx1 or a busnell elite 3200 but then I saw a nikon prostaff 3-9. Very very clear. a really nice looking scope and the price is nice at 150. Any advice out there? what about service and warranty experience?

In that price range I think the Burris Fullfield II is the best deal, plus right now they are running a deal with a free spotting scope (really good deal). Also if you want to save I think the Simmons Aetec in that price range is the only one with fully multi-coated lenses, although I have never really used one. In addition check out the Weaver grand slams I think that with a deal you might be able to get one in that range. Don't get me wrong the Nikons and Leupolds are great scopes, I just think that they can't offer the bang for the buck in their lower lines. I would probably say that the Monarch and VX-III are two of the best scopes out their for the money.

I have a few of the Nikon Buckmaster which is one step up from the prostaff and I like them very much then I found the Sightron bought one for $150 and liked it alot, probably more than the Buckmaster(ihave not used it in the field yet) because it is just as clear and it is 1 piece tube which the nikon is not. Sightron was started by a guy that left leupold and started his own company. It is a very good scope for the $$. I bought 2 more from midway when they had them on sale for $99.
All the scopes I talked about are 3x9x40

PS. I see these sightron on ebay starting at $99

In a review I read in I think Perersens Hunting they said the Por-Staff lacks some of the bells and whistles but It will Sure bring home the Venison. What more can you ask of a scope at that price. Just be sure to get the one intended for centerfire rifles. At Walmart here its decieving.
