Default first elk hunt

This will be my firt elk hunt, so Is a Browning 30.06 OK to hunt elk?

30 06 is more than u need for elk .. ur set

A 30-06 is fine, but take bigcountry's advice and select a premium bullet. 180 grain Federal Partitions are a great choice. You want a heavy premium bullet that will hold together.

Ballistic Silvertips and rounds like it are for lighter skinned game.
