Got a Marlin 30/30, good shape, no scope, and 6 rounds, for $100.

If it shoots ok you got a good deal. If it doesn't shoot very well you'd be better off spending more on something else and selling the one you have....but only if it won't print decent groups. $100 for a 100 yard gun is a pretty good deal if i say so. If it will shoot well beyond 100 yards (with a scope added later) then good for you.

if it will shoot under 1/4 of an inch at 250 yards you got a decent deal if not you might as well give it to me

Compared to a new rifle, you got a really good deal, they're something like $350 new now, which would put a "like new" condition used one at about $200, however, if it's 5yrs old, it can look brand new, and even two years ago they were about $100 cheaper new, I bought my last 336 I had for $225 at K-mart plus tax, so basically, if the rifle is 5yrs old, the guy certainly got more than he should have, but you certainly didn't give too much either....if it were 3-8yrs old and in great shape still, he got about 50% of his price, however you bought a rifle at about 50% of what it could have been.

Any time you buy a Marlin leveraction it's a good deal, especially when only $100 are involved!!!!!

If your happy with what you paid then its a good deal . I have seen them sell for less one time and more the next , both buyers were happy so they were good deals .

Sure! that's a good deal. I like the Marlins a lot better than the Winchesters!
