I am surprised to see only two Swarovski's listed (mine included). I have a Zeiss Diavari on my .270 and a Nikon on my .243 but my 30.06 which is my favorite rifle has what I consider to be my best scope.

... But I have to tell you that if you ever look thru a Zeiss at sun up or near sun down, you will never never never want to use any other scope.

If you ever get a chance, look thru a NightForce. Then you will more than likely take back those words.

Oh yea night force a friend of mine uses them, Those in my opinion absolutely have to be the clearest scopes. I bought a Burris Black diamond 8-32x50mm side focus for my Rem M700 P in .308, for Low light coyote hunting. My friend has a Night force 5.5-22x56mm NXS on his Rem M700 VS in .308. Between his two pieces of property ran power lines which left a gap of about 50 yards wide between the 2 edges of tree line every 50 yards he has marker stick with a reflector on top of it to help with ranging out to a range of 500 yards. One evening we were hunting and it was almost an hour after sundown I could no longer see the 200 yard marker but my buddy could still see the 400 yard marker clearly. I asked if i could look through it and as big as day there was the 400 yard marker. Not to mention just as I cased my rifle, KaBOOM!! goes a .308 and a coyote drops just in front of the 200 yard marker.

I use a Weaver K-3 that's probably about 50 years old, and still works good. It even looks new too. There's nothing a little paint won't fix.

Ruger 77RLS .358Win. carbine with Leupold Vari-X II, 1-4x
Ruger 77RSI .308Win. with Leupold Vari-X III, 1-1/2 - 5x
Sako Mannlicher carbine, .308Win. with Leupold Vari-X III, 1-1/2 x 5x
Remington 700LSS .270 with Leupold Vari-X II, 2-7x
Ruger 77/22Mag with Leupold 3-9x compact
Ruger 10/22RSI model with Leupold 4x scope.

Guess you can tell, I like my Leupolds. Never had any problems. Great optics.
Have also used/liked some Weavers, a 1-3x on Marlin 30-30 was real good.
Redfields, Tasco, Bushnell - all okay, but I'll take Leupold, or the occasional Weaver.
