I was wondering how everybody cleans the lenses of there scopes. I always keep my scope covers on so very little dirt/grime gets in and then I clean them with a lense pen. I was cleaning my uncles guns the other day and I decided to clean his scopes. He had a lot of junk from hunting near alpaha in there and I was afraid that it would scratch the lense, or even worse get on my lense pen and then scratch mine. Is there anyway to prevent this?
You can use a can of compressed air to blow off the debris, or an air bulb that expels air. You can also lick the debris off the lenses using a wet tongue. Good luck.

I use a camera lense cleaning kit- brush with little puffball on it, lenspaper with alcohol.

The scope lens should be cleaned just as a camera lens with special products. Just don"™t use Windex. Windex could damage the special coating on the lens. I"™ve have also read not to use tap water because it could scratch the lens. Using caned compressed air or the puffball is also very good for removing the larger part.
The most important thing I think is to not clean your scope lens any more than you absolutely have to. I clean mine once or twice a year. A can of compressed air works very nice for removing loose debris from the lens. Then you can use a quality kit like the Zeiss bigcountry mentioned. That's what I use. I have used a Lenspen on occassion and they work pretty well too, but make sure any loose debris is blown or brushed away first.
