Default Savage with the AccuTriger

Greetings Forum
I just received my Savage catalog and also checked out there web site on there new AccuTriger. I think that this has put the Savage rifle ahead of the other RemChester Ruger rifles. I don"™t own a Savage but I am intrigued and my curiosity has been aroused. I am especially fond of the looks of the 114U walnut stocked model. Do any of you fine folks have the new Savage with the AccuTriger and how do you like it? It may be that Savage will no longer be looked at as poor mans rifle and will not take a back seat to any of them.

Happy Hunting

Hornet Man

I recently purchased a Savage 110FP with an accutrigger. The accutrigger is a very good trigger, very crisp. The factory setting was just fine so I haven't adjusted it. I'm getting .5" three shot groups with this rifle. I also have a Savge 116 in 300 RUM pre accutrigger. I had a gunsmith lighten and take the creep out of the factory trigger and this trigger is very crisp. I get sub MOA with this rifle also.

Savage's new trigger still don't put it in the same league as such notables as Howa, Winchester, Sako, Tikka.....etc But it's a major step foreward for them. Among the biggest complaints about Savage's guns was the triggers and that's been solved. I'd still rather have a good Timney in a '98 mauser but the accutrigger is a very good one and coupled with their superb accuracy Savage is a fine choice for the making of a long range varmint rifle.

Apparantly they have senior management that gives a S___ about guns instead of whatever there is at Remington.
