My uncle recently gave me a gun that belonged to my grandfather. It is a Sears, Roebuck, and Co. 22 rifle Model 25. This info is engraved on the side of the gun. Also, there is a long series of numbers on the side with a (.) in the middle of the numbers. I am assuming that this is the serial number. I'm not sure about this though. Along with those numbers is a Pat. number. On the opposite side of this barrel is more engraving that says that this gun can shoot 22 longs and 22 shorts. If anyone has any information on this kind of gun please reply. I am wanting to find out as much as I can about this gun. Thank you!
I don't know specifics about the rifle in question, but on Sears firearms, the long numbers 123344.5452 (or whatever) were catalog numbers, not serial numbers.
Is the rifle a single-shot? Any way you could post a photo?
Thanks for the info on this gun. I does look like the one in that photo. I don't know much about this gun but I am learning little by little. Thanks again.
If you post the number, the BB of gun values lists a bunch of Sears guns and the original model that they represent. I would be glad to look it up for you. If you don't want to post here, e-mail me and I'll see if I can find it.
