Default Laminated stock color

I think i just might restock my model 70 with a laminated stock blank from Boyds. I want to ask you guys what color you like for a hunting rifle stock. Opinions please.

They are all nice looking laminates. I don't think it would matter which one would be the best for hunting. I'm sure they would all blend in fine.I like the Pepper the best shown. That would be the one I would go with. How much are theses stocks running?

The blanks run $69.95. I am going for a blank so I can fit it to me and so that I can have the color that I want. Inleted stocks only come in certain colors.

Here is their link. http://boydboys.com/

I am not worried about the stock blending in, I just don't want to end up with a hunting rifle that looks like it belongs on the target line. I have seen some stocks that just don't look like they belong in the woods, if you know what I mean.

I like the Pepper Laminate also of the 4 you are showing. If you're interested in a nice laminated stock, you might want to check out Richard's Microfit Gunstocks. They have some really nice looking hardwood and laminate stocks in different configurations. I have been looking at one of their Straight Line Thumbhole stocks in black laminate for my A-Bolt. Here is a pic of one in brown laminate.

It's hard to beat the looks of a good laminate stock IMO.

Turkey, I have looked at their stocks also but Richards wants, for a comparable size blank, $95.00 to $109.00 compared to Boyds $69.99.

They are all very nice laminates but my least favorite would be the Burchell. Personally I would think the Pepper or the Shady Laminates would be better suited for the woods. The Royal Jacaranda belongs at the range.

I like the Pepper best. It looks similar to the "black" laminate that Ruger is using on some of their rifle stocks and pistol grips.
