Default Just picked up a used ruger

It is a M 77 I guess it would be a ultra light It has a 19" barrel and is chamberd in 250 savage, I looked in all my gun traders guides and can't find anything in that caliber or barrel length... Any body have any info? year? why It is not listed in my books? .. It is in good shape and came with a cheap bushnell $200 ...Thanks Bill

Good for you 338,If you want to find the year it was made go to the Ruger site www.Ruger-firearms.com Click on firearms,then product service. Look for serial number history.Take your S/N and look at the year with the range of S/N's produce for that year.Good luck with your new toy.

even though they skip my serial #78 .. It should have been shipped in 84.. And the book says it is in the $300 range .. I had a 257 Roberts that I gave to a friends son on his first birthday(I miss it), This should fill the gap nice ..Thanks for the info ..Bill

Thats a dandy deer and vermit rifle. I bought the 700 Remington classic the year the 250-3000 Savage was the gun of the year for them. My wife took it over and wouldn't give it up for anything. Its probably the hardest hiting caliber out there for the amount of recoil it hands out. My wife is six for six on Mule deer since she started hunting with it.
