Default Shotgun patterning didn't pay off

My gosh, I worked patterning my shotgun for the first time. Tryed 5 different chokes, and a bunch of ammo. Found a combo I liked. I never bothered before but was always successful. So I head out turkey hunting on Friday. I remember I went skeet shooting weekend before. I forgot my choke 3 hours away from home. All that time wasted. Stopped at wally world and picked up a remington super full turkey choke. Well it worked out, had a 21lb gobbler with 11" beard on the ground by 10:30. Just decided not to shoot over 20 yards.

Skill beats equipment every time. Wish I had more skill. Congratulations on a fine hunt!

Default RE: Shotgun patterning didn't pay off

Well, no skill on this Friday. Had the biggest gobblers I have ever seen abotu 60 yards from me for 20 min, and they wondered around each other forever. finally a deer came behind me and started blowing and the turkeys took off.

Then saw some bald eagles. very cool
Then saw about 300 yards away a whole family of Coyotes. Really would like to get those off the farm. Tryed Coyote hunting for awhile, couldn't get close enough.

Overall a good day. I believe my turkey season is over with.
