I got Tikikia t-3 lite in 300wsm for a early x-mas present and I love this gun it is the best shooting out of the box gun I have ever owned it has super smoth action and agreat trigger that you can adjust yourself. It can be bought at walmart for 429.00 in the short mags and little less in standered calibers hope this helps

http://www.tikka.fi You can check out the specs at Tikka's site.

In addition, talk to some people who own and have used. I have a Tikka T3 Hunter (hardwood stock and blued steel) .300 WM, I bought last year and used for Elk hunting last fall. It's a tremendously designed and built weapon. Out of the box, with a good scope, a steady rest, a good person and premium ammo, groups of 3 shots at 100+ yds within 1" are common.

It's the same barrel as the more expensive Sako. The barrel is floating (for better accuracy). A smooth, solid bolt. Free quality rings. A nice palm swell. The weight is slightly lighter than some other rifles in it's class, which on a target range with a box of shells through it you'll feel a little more with magnum calibers. But I wouldn't worry about it in the field.

I like it more than any rifle I've ever owned. I'm thinking down the road of a .270 T3 Hunter for whitetails, too.

Im thinking of buying a 7mm remington magnum tikka T3 myself. I hear they are very nice, and an article I read in Field & Stream not too long ago gave the rifle a very good review, citing how accurate, smooth, and ergonomic it is.

I have both a Tikka T3 Hunter (wood/blued) in 25-06 and a Tikka T3 Lite Stainless (synthetic) in .308.

Both are excellent rifles with the best trigger from the factory I have ever seen. Both shoot under MOA out of the box. Because of the light weight (6lbs 4oz) on the Lite, you definately feel a little more recoil, but it's not objectionable.

No other rifle out there in it's price range can compare IMHO.
