I'm assuming your '97 pump shotgun has a full choke.....most did in them days.

I'd look for some 12 ga 2 3/4" mags with 1 1/2 oz of #6 shot.....shoot for the head and neck area.

Your gun must be in good condition.....but assuming it is it'll shoot the 1.5 oz loads fine.

remember to keep your thumb down....that slide mechanism will rip the nail off your right hand thumb real fast.....they've done it to a lot of folks.
