I have been eyeballing a beretta 338 mag bolt rifle for awhile now and was in need of some input on who made it for beretta or if beretta had or has their own rifle plant? Also how durable ,accurate,etc.etc... I have never owned a beretta rifle but do love their shotguns. The rifle is blued with a flute design on the bolt synthetic stock if that info helps. Priced in the mid 900.00 range Lets hear the good and the bad Thanks
I'm pretty sure Beretta made/makes their own rifles. At least since the time frame you're talking about.

From what you descibe it sounds like a mato standard and your price sounds good if it was in good to V.G. condition . It doesn't say who makes them other than it has a model 98 action .
I went back and picked it up. It is a Mato standard new in box never fired. Now I just need to decide weather or not to use it or store it lol Thanks for the info Troy
you have got a great find. the beretta mato is a fine firearm and originally sold for over $2000 when i was looking at them in 99 and 00. there are a few times you can come across a gun like that and at that price, wow. enjoy it! i envy you.[:'(]
LOL Guess that answers that question. I don't like dust collectors but I would hate to shoot what might be a decent collectors gun. Maybe I will trade it for another ruger and a scope lol
