Default Browning dates of manufacture

I am trying to date the manufacture for an Auto 5 that a friend of mine inherited. I am finding the Browning website is a little confusing as after the 70's the serial number started with 2 letters, not a letter and a number. The serial number is 9v. there is no 151 or M designation though this gun is marked magnum. The s/n is
9V
-----
9819

Also it is marked with Browning Arms Co, St Louis MO Montreal PQ Made in Belguim Can anyone tell me the years manufacture was in Belguim, that will help me narrow down the possible dates of manufacture. Thanks in advance Jed

Default RE: Browning dates of manufacture

Jed, I looked at the Browning date of manufacture book in school today and the best that I can tell with out the entire serial number was it was made in 1959 and is a magnum gun. Brownings serial numbers are a lttle screwey.

If you feel like it PM me the entire serial number and I will check the whole thing at school tomorow and post my findings when I get home at about 5:00 mountain time.
