Default Winchester Model 70

I won a Winchester Model 70- Featherlight in 7mmWSM last week. I don't know much about the reliability ,accuracy or anything about it. Any feedback from the Forum would be much appreciated.
Also any brand of ammunition suggestions would also be appreciated.

I will be topping it off with a KAHLES 3-9 scope.

Thanks,
MATHEWSCONQUEST2

I also posted this in the Firearm review forum.

Congrats! For my money, the M70 Winchesters are still about the best you can get!

Don't ya just hate guys like this???

The Winchester model 70 is junk. It's only a little better than the Remington 710. I hate to see someone get so screwed, so I'll take it off your hand and even pay the shipping for you. Ain't I nice?? [8D]

To clarify- I won it at a NRA banquet last week. I started to go to Ducks Unlimited, NRA and Pheasants Forever banquets 6 years ago and never won anything more than a bird feeder. I was happy to be the first winner drawn this year.
I'm now prepared to wait another 6 years for another win. They are all great organizations to support.

OMG!!!! I'm laughing like a madman right now!!! Just the comment about the gun being junk!!!!! Thanks for giving me a chuckle! On a more serious note: I LIKE it when guys win stuff... if they don't win stuff on a regular basis. I stopped going to DU banquets in my area because there is only ONE wealthy guy in the area. He buys a BUTTLOAD (trust me, referring to HIS butt-load means a TON!!!!!!) of raffle tickets and walks away with more than half of the prizes, normally including more than one gun. Enough to sour a guy on DU banquets for a long time. IMO, you shouldn't be allowed to buy more than ONE raffle ticket. If you want to donate more money, that's great, but everyone should get a fair shake when it comes to drawing a prize. I'd like to see some of the younger kids, who can only afford one raffle ticket, have even odds on winning a high dolllar gun. I know that by buying a bunch of tickets, you're contributing to DU and that's a good thing. But c'mon... try and give everyone a chance to win. I know personally of at least 20 people who refuse to go the banquet anymore because they're sick of seeing the same guy win the high dollar stuff over and over and over and... well, you get the idea.
