Default H&R Ultra Single shot 223

Im looking at the this rifle in a 223 but have no expierence with these rifles and was wondering what you guys think about them?? Im looking at using this for 50-70 yard shots on gophers and coyotes. Are these guns accurate shooters or should I look at something else?? This will be my first 223 so I want a decent rifle.
Cheers!!

Norco...I've got a 223 Handi-Rifle. I struggled with it for a while...getting 2" groups at 100yds, and I wanted better. Then I sent it back and had the trigger lightened for $20, shipping included. I put an O-ring between the front sling swivel stud and barrel, and found the right ammo. (Black Hills 55gr V-Max)

After doing this, the groups are now UNDER an inch consistently at 100yds...shooting as well as guns that cost 5X as much. I've seen 3 of the 223's shot, and they all liked the Black Hills ammo.

Just put a good scope on it, and find the right ammo. You'll have a shooter...especially at 70yds. I've shot a couple groundhogs with mine at over 200yds without a problem.

I shoot an Ultra in .308 and love it. They are great little rifles for the money. Well made and have lots of personality. If you don't mind shooting a single you will like the H&R/NEF.

My 223 NEF shot four tenths of an inch from the box with the cheap WW varmit loads. Mine is the regular barrel with Synthetic stock. Its a shooter,

I'm looking for a good 223 to use for varmits, and to introduce my wife to centefire rifles, with the sound, but not the kick of higher powered rifles, to get her ready for the next step.. When i get back to the states, I may have to give a serious look at the handi rifle.
