Default I picked the 700 classic

Hey guys,
a while back I posed a question about a savage or 700 classic. I brought home the 700 in 7mm-08. I topped it with a 2-7x VX1 and finally made it to the range today to sight it in. To say that I am extremely pleased is an understatement.Out of the box this rifle's got a wonderfully clean and crisp trigger that breaks just a hair under 4 pounds - not bad straight from the box.The first shot was 6 1/2 " right of the bull . Second shot was dead on left/right but an inch low. Third shot we were 2inches hight at 100 yards. This gun was printing 3/4" groups with 140 gr. BT Remington factory stuff. What sucks is that Remington doesn't offer this Factory load any more. Oh well,I guess I get to have some fun at the loading bench. At least I already know one bullet it seems to like. Just wanted to say thanks for the input and let you know how it went at the range.( I can't wait for November)

Doug

Good luck with your new baby! If you want to shoot factory loads you might want to try the Winchester 140 gr. BT's I have had good results with them,on paper and game.Good Luck
