I have a an 8mm Mauser m98 German rifle that my grandfather brought back from World War 2. I have two questions.
1.Can you get non-corrosive ammo higher than 170 grains?
2. Is it good for coyote?
Yes you can get ammo very easily, Winchester, Sellier&Belot and others, just check differant ammo web sites.
I think it is a fine coyote gun as long as the hole in the pelt doesn't matter.
There are many places to get ammo for your gun. Just about any gun can be used for coyotes within it's limits. With handloads I think you can get down to a 125 grain, and as high as a 220 grain. Not sure about factory loads, but check around.
win remington federal are all 170gr. unless you go to foreign makers . thats where you get 196gr. and above. i have federal 170gr. and 196gr. the 196gr. shoots better
