Default what gun

I am looking at the stoeger condor and the condor supreme delux the condor is $380 and the condor supreme delux is $500 the only reason it is 500 is because it has single selective trigger and a red bar front which i dont caer if i have that or not. I will be shooting trap and skeet rabbit duck and some pheasant do i really need the single selective trigger?

DearSlayer357,

It's more a matter of preference....as opposed to need. If you've never used a double trigger before it will require practice to get familiar with it. Or if you suspect that you will be constantly jumping between the two styles, (for instance a pump or semi with a single trigger....and a double with two triggers), it might cause adjustment problems. I know when I shoot a double.....with double triggers. I sometimes attempt to pull the same trigger more than one......habitually.

If you get a double trigger....just spend some time making the adjustment!

Good luck with your decision.

Dave

No you don't really need single trigger. In fact I prefer the double trigger, I can choose which barrel I want to fire (with different chokes in each barrel) but my first gun was a side by side with double triggers, and I learned to use them. Now days I would probably do something like akbound, and pull the same trigger more than once, or maybe not shoot at all cause I can't remember which trigger to pull...

It really depends on what you like, I've got two "budget" SxS's now, one a coach gun and one a 28" bbl, both Baikal IZH models (IZH43 and a Bounty Hunter II), one is a single selective and one is a double. I shoot cowboy action, so the coach gun gets the most use, I swapped the triggers so that I've got the doubles on the coach gun...I prefer them a great deal, but I hold my hand with a finger on each trigger, always have on double T SxS's, so I can actually shoot faster with the doubles, most people don't like the position it puts their hand in though.

Try one of each on, most people never really think of the difference in time it takes to pull one finger then the other vs. double pull one, but it sure makes a big difference when you need a follow up shot on a clay or a running rabbit and you've got to draw your trigger finger out and back into the guard on a double T.
