what rings for a nef handi rifle with a bushnell banner scope

Have to use high rings or the hammer will scrape the scope bell. Found that out through experience.

I don't know about a 40mm but i had a 25.06 Ultra with a 50mm scope on it and i had to use high rings.

I use high rings too. Some scopes you can get by with medium rings.

I used medium rings for a 44mm objective lens. The scope is about touching the barrel, (less than 1/16".) Hammer clears by about 1/8".
