i bought several different brands of .22 long rifle ammo and it all grouped pretty good except for teh CB CCI. is this a lower velocity round or what? cause it was about 4 inches low and didn't group very well at all.

Yes, it's a lower velocity, lower noise round. Great for squirell if your gun will group with it. I've got an old Savage bolt action that shoots them pretty well.
