Default My Favorite gun

I recently got a Tikka T3 lite. I killed my second deer of the season the day I got it zeroed in. I think this is my favorite gun I have ever used, it makes the A-bolt look stupid. The bolt slides really nice right out of the box, then when you put a little oil on there it's like a knife through hot butter. I would recommend this gun to anyone who is in the market right now, the only gun I find better is a sako, which costs $500 more, they have the same bolt though, and are made in the same factory under Berettas name. I would take this gun over just about anything on the market right now, including browning!

I may have to get a Tikka this year. I have never had one. One of the few I have not tried. I would be looking at a LH bolt but I will have to check the caliber chart for LH models.

I'd never heard of them til I joined this forums group, now I'm intrigued. Next years rifle may have to be a Tikka, unless I find another deal like I did this year on a Winchester

I just checked out thier site. They have quite a few. I think the 25-06 will be my choice. It depends on how long it takes the companies to get the 25 WSSM on the market. That would be my firsy choice. Our local gun store does not expect any of them until about August.

I'm starting to really want one bad. I've been eyeing up the CZ 550 for some time now, but the Tikka T3 looks even sweeter. I guess right about now would be a good time to get one in 6.5x55 for me to 'hold' for my son when he's old enough to hunt 10 years from now

Hey buckslayer,

Which caliber did you choose? I like the T3 Lite as well...may have to pick one up next year! Never heard one negative comment about Tikka. I'm intrigued!

The T-3 is a fine shooting gun for sure. It's designed to compete with (price wise) Remington, Ruger, Winchester, and etc. Because of this fact the rifle is a compermise. Plastic parts and a "one size fits all" action and clip. The only thing that a T-3 shares with a Sako is the same factory. The action is fine if you are getting a .270, 30-06 or any other long cartridge. All in all a good gun for the money.

Worc, I agree, I don't like the Tikka's "one size fits all" action and magazine!
I guess if you are going to be getting a magnum caliber then this would not be a problem, but if you are wanting a short action, I'd look at something else!
