Default installing open sights

Hello,

I ordered open sights (rear & front) for my Benelli R1 rifle.
Although it seems simple to screw it on place, my concern is that the screws might get loose after a while. Could anyone give me any advice on how to do this myself or should I get a professional gunsmith to do it for me.

Thanks

Screw them on and make sure they fit right. Then remove the screws and put loct tite on the screws and put them back in tight. Use the lock-tite that allows you to remove the screws later if you want. Threr are three or four grades of lock-tite just read the direction until you find the right one.

If the barrel is not drilled and tapped for the screws, I'd take it to someone that has a mill to precisely locate the holes and control the drill depth.

Merry Christmas and all the best!!!

Thanks James, that"™s very helpful. I'll try it.

And thanks to Vapodog. By the way Benelli R1 European version is equipped with open sights and I don't know why the American version is just drilled and taped.
Maybe to just squeeze you for another $175!!!
