Default RE: what is .338 lupa?

It is a beltless magnum originally designed for military sniper service. It fires a 250 grain bullet at about 3000 fps. Needless to say this thing will kick a lot. The only companies that make ammo or brass for it are Lapua and Norma so the ammo and brass are not cheap. Brass alone goes for a little over a buck per case.

If you are looking to for a bench rest round and are building a rifle on something to reload take a look at the WHISPER cartridges like the 300 whisper and 338 whisper. THey are sub sonic cartridges and are said to be extremely accurate rounds. Just a thought.
