Default Savage Rifles?

I am thinking about buying one. Are they a good quality rifle? Where is the safety located at on this rifle? If I get one, it will be in 7mm rem mag.

Not the fanciest rifle by far, however you wont find a better shooting gun for 3 Xs the money. The saftey is located directly behind the bolt and is a simple slide forward deal not unlike what you would find on a mossberg pump shotgun. It is equally accessable for either left hand or right handed shooters.

hi , i have a savage 116 stainless synthetic. in 30-06 . it is extremly accurate. i have a nikon monarch 4x12 on it . it kicks a bit more then any other 30-06 ive shot . i took a 4 ptr. with it this year , as i was taking it off safety the buck heard the click .and started off . i hit him quatering away . i dont recall having any other deer hear the saftey click ,but this one did at 35 yards . i highly recomend savage rifles (at least the 116) it is my go to gun when i need a performer!!!!

Frizzellr is the one to ask about these Savages. Those are his babies. All I've ever heard about Savage has been good. The biggest complaint I did hear is their triggers could be better.Savage came out with a new trigger so there must have been some improvements made. For the price you probably won't find a better rifle.

Deer-Slayer I have a Savage 111 30-06 package gun that I bought last year just after christmas. "Cut the first notch " in her this year. If I was buying it now I would go for the Accutrigger. it's SWEEEEEET! Some dont think they are attractive, but I love them. Rugged, great shooting out of the box. I print a 1 1/2 inch pattern at 100 yards. Someone who shoots better could probably get that down significantly. I like the safety. Easy to use. The only other rifle I found in the same price range was a remington 710. Man, what a piece of crap that thing was. took all of 30 seconds handling the thing and I never wanted to see another. I love the Savage. Im keepin my eyes open for another one in a lighter caliber for one of my boys.
