got a new rifle

well, I ordered it yesterday, a savage 12bvss in 22-250. I am putting burris bases, burris sig. rings, and a burris sig. 8-32 bal mil dot scope on it. I probably won't even hardly shoot it. I probably won't even really get it sighted in very good. oh well, just one of those impulse things.
I hope it will be as good as everything I have read. I will try to shoot the win. bal-tip 40 and 50 gr to see what does best.

I think you are going to shoot that rifle alot more than you plan on. Once you start shooting a good varmit rifle they are tough to put down.
I have been around several 22-250's and they all shot bullets from 50 to 55-grains better than they did 40-grain bullets. I recommend that you only buy 1-box of ammo that has 40-grain bullets & 2-boxes that are loaded with 50-grain bullets. After you get this rifle on paper with the first box of 50-grain bullets. Shoot the 40 & 50-grain loads head to head. Let the gun tell you what it likes best.
