I have had bad experience with both. I was really into this ultra light kick for some time. That Finnlight wasn't made near as nice as I thought it would be. The stock was some molded injected deal. Really sucked. And neither was that accurate with factory ammo. And with handloads very finicky. The weatherby was ok. Pretty good over all fit and qualtity. But with any ultralight, the bedding is so important. And the weatherby needed a good bedding job. And way too expensive. I have settled for a Browning Medallion. I think it is just almost as light. Maybe oz's heavier. I can get brownings A-bolts from my smith for 550 dollars. Which is much cheaper. And not near as finicky as either the weatherby or the finnlight. I will settle with this until I an get a NULA Melvin Forbes rifle. I know a fella that took a Remington Ti and had about 300 dollars of smithing done to it. Evenually had a very accurate light rifle.

Another alternitive is too have Christianson to cut down the original barrel of a accurate gun you have and then carbon wrap it.

Otis, I didn't say it couldn't be accurate. Its just I had to let the gun cool between each shot. The groups would change dramically between 80 degree weather and 20degree or different powder lots. But that is my experience with most ultralights.

As I mentioned in another post, I was playing with a newly arrived 300WSM Finnlight the other day and absolutely LOVE the gun but I noticed something today that completely slipped my mind as I fondled the toy the other day. Despite being a 300WSM the damn thing is built on a standard 75 longaction. Even the the DBM has a 3/4" plug in the backend of it to make it fit the short lil stubby cartridge. I still LOVE the action and the gun is still light, handles very well and is just awesome to look at, but I cant get over thinkin, "WTF were those Fins thinkin by puttin the lil 300WSM in a longaction?" Kinda misses one of the main reasons for having a shortmag in the first place dont it?

Then again I am makin room in my gunsafe for 240 and 257 Wby Mag Mark Vs we have as well!
