Default Browning Bar.

I recently purchased a Browning Bar Safari Grade, 300 WSM with the BOSS system. Now I' ll be first to admit that I didn' t believe all the hype about the BOSS system but wanted a BAR in 300 WSM and the gun shop only had one with the BOSS system so I bought it. This past weekend I put the gun in a rest (Outers - the blue one) on a bench and checked its accuracy.

To all those bolt action guys that always say an auto loader isn' t as accurate as a bolt...I say PPphhhhhhhtttttt.[:-] After I zero' d the scope and the BOSS system, I shot two three shot, one hole groups you can cover with a dime. I was using Winchester Ballistic Silvertips in 150 grain. I' m also using a Nikon Monarch 3 X 12 scope. Even I was amazed after I shot the first group, so I tried it again and WOW, what a gun, what a cartridge! This was accomplished at 100 yards. Now if I can only take a bench, the gun rest, and get my quarry to stand still for say about 5 minutes....I' ll never miss[]

At least now I know the set up is accurate enough, the rest is up to me!

I am not surprised... I had 2 300 WSM' s in a bolt gun and both were consistently accurate shooters...

BOSS is great. Make sure it stays tight and calibrated. I run some Federal high energys through my a bolt and they actually loosened my boss. My POI was off a foot. 12+ inches no joke! Once I recalobrated it and reset it it was back on. Like yours it will goup under a dime.

Sure they can shot just as good as a bolt, especialy the BAR, but try to find a $400 autoloader to shoot as acurate as a $400 bolt gun- ain' t no such creature.

I've owned a Rem 7400 and a BAR. There is no comparison. If anyone is considering purchasing an auto, spend the extra $200 and get something you will be happy with. My BAR doesn't have the BOSS and it is extremely accurate. I also own and use bolt action guns and the BAR compares favorably to them without the felt recoil.
