Default Which rifle?

I need help on deciding which rifle, caliber, scope, and bullet combination to get for my next rifle. I already have a .308. Iwill be hunting mostly whitetail deer but possibly black bear and elk. My shots will be from 25 to 350 yards. It will be my only rifle for a while and I hope to get it by next season.I' m looking at a 7mm mag. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Any of the .300 Magnums with Leupold' s 3-9 compact scope and Swift 180 or 200 grain A-Frames in a M-70 Winchester will fill your needs.....however the .308 you already have will do it too.

You got the 30 cal bullet, so why not go for a 7mmRM to spread her out a bit. I use the 7mmRM on deer, moose and elk it works just great. Blackie' s no problem either with the 308 or 7mmRM.

The 300 winnie would be solid as well, depends on what you like/want.

The 7mm mag would be an excelent choice for everything from pronghorns to elk and moose.

With the lighter animals like deer and antelope I would choose a 140 grain bullet of conventional construction like a Rem. core lokt and for the bigger elk and moose choose a 160 grain bullet of controled expansion like the nosler partition or barnes X.

You can' t go wrong with a 7mm magnum. Either a Remington, Weatherby or the new Short magnums.

You need to rethink your statement. The 25-06 does not shoot faster nor flatter than the 270 Win. It can' t even begin to touch a 7mm Rem Mag.

Velocity is determined by the weight of bullet used.If the 25-06 was firing a 100gr bullet and the 270 a 140gr or 150gr bullet the 25-06 could produce more velocity and a flatter trajectory. On the other hand if the the 25-06 fired a 120gr bullet and the 270 a 100gr to 130gr bullet , the 270 would produce more velocity and a flatter trajectory.
