Default Remington 700 -> ADL or BDL

What is the difference between the ADL and the BDL?

I looked on the Remington website and I can' t see much of a difference.

The ADL has a blind magazine; the BDL has a hinged magazine floorplate.

The BDL has a hinged floor plate for easier cleaning and for easier clearing of the weapon. The ADL is a solid stock.

Should that be a big concern? If it' s just a matter of convienence when I' m cleaning it I don' t mind, especially with the price differences.

I just got a 700 ADL and I like it a lot. The blind magazine isn' t an issue for me at all.

There only real concern, IMHO, is the unloading process. With the BDL, you can open the floor plate and remove the cartridges. With the ADL, you' ll need to cycle the action for each cartridge, or push them forward with your finger to release them.

I' m quite happy with my ADL, and I unload unspent ammo via the push method I described above. My recommendation: save a few bucks and get the ADL. Just my two cents.
