Default Ammo storage question

Here' s a question for everyone....., where do you store your ammo? Do you keep it locked up in the safe along with your firearms or do you store it separately in a different locked cabinet/safe? I currently keep everything in one large safe but it' s gettin' crowded in there with all my guns, ammo, important papers, wife' s junk, etc... (got no room for growth - if you know what I mean).

I been thinking about getting me one of those small safe' s ; 24" x24" ; just for my ammo.
I got to thinking about the heat from a fire.I know my safe it fire proof, but the heat my cause the ammo to explode.anyone know bout that?

Well here in Canada it is law that you have to keep the ammo stored seperately from your guns...I have my ammo locked up in a filing cabinet in a different part of the house!!!!!!!! Brampton Mike[8D]

I used to keep mine in a Firesafe, just incase you know, now that only holds my handguns and my powder has expanded to a daimond plate steel powder magazine that my cousin built me, it' s all nylon coated to prevent sparks and double locking, I put some aluminum nylon coated shelves in it to help with organization...Best thing about a custom affair like this is that you can have only what you want, AND exactly what you want, and you can typically make it or have it made for WAY less $$$. My cousin' s a pro-welder, take a case of Bud over and help with it and we knocked each of them out in a day, only money spent was the beer and the raw materials costs.

I' ve got a pair of them, one for loaded ammo, one for powders and primers-the primers are in a separate compartment in the lid, unlock one lock to get to the primers, lock it and unlock two others and when you lift the lid, the primer compartment comes with it.

im pretty bad about what i do with my guns and ammo.....most of my ammos in a cubort or in a drawer....but its hunting season....its in my jackets....its in my car.....its all around my room.....its hunting season....i have 4 guns in the corner and a pistol and a drawer beside my bed.....all guns are unloaded and never loaded in the house.....and noone that doesnt know any better doesnt go near my stuff......we have no little kids around or anything....the rest of my guns are under the bed in cases or on the backside of my wall on a rack.....its hard to explain my wall but it was put up to separate my room from a little are we use as a laundry room and keep the dog in so if i walk back there my guns are there.....im kinda unsafe about it keeping it all around but like i said....everyone knows better here and noones going to play with them but me and the ammo isnt in the gun...heck even if someone did play with my guns and ammo and were dumb enough to id bet they couldnt find the right ammo to put in the right gun!!! also i have all my muzzleloader powder and bullets in a plastic dresser type thing i keep junk in and my hamster sits on top of it.....my house is small...space is something we dont have.....we had a big house but got sick of it.....it took all weekend to clean and we didnt need a house that big...now its too small....but thats because me and my sister will be gone in a few years and it will just be mom and dad here.....they wanted a smaller house....oh well.....when i get married and have kids my ways will change and i will keep it all alot safer.......i want a huge safe......like a 30 gun giant.......
