Default 7mm-08 bullets?

I have a new Browning a-bolt in 7mm-08. I am currently shooting 140 grain corelocks but I know a place that offers custom made ammo. Two that interest me are the 120 gr nosler ballistic tip and the 120 grain barnes x-bullet for the 7mm-08. Dropping to 120 gr should make this an even flatter shooting gun. Which of these two rounds would be best on Alabama sized whitetails. Would there be any percieved difference in felt recoil going to a bullet 20 grs lighter. Anyone have any experience with the X bullet or opinions of it as a whitetail killer.

I use a savage 99 7-08 here in wv some, all my whitetail hunting I do here I use either a 120 bt, or a 120 Hornady spire point, Took a 200# bear with the 120 Hornady a couple years ago. Recoil is a little less with lighter bullets, this is true in any given caliber.

I love the 7mm-08 for deer! The only time I have ever killed a deer with the 120gr bullet is when I took a buck a few years back useing a 15" T/C Encore. I like useing Hornady 139rg SST' s for rifle hunting...

All of these will work....and I' d see no advantage of anything over the 140 Core lokt...

If you like custom ammo go for it but the old Remingtons will do the job just as well.....as well as winchester' s power points and many other companys bullets.

My next trip out will be either with my 280 or my 6.5x55. I am shooting 120 grain bullets in both. The 120 noslet BT and the 120 gr Sierra pro hunter. The Barnes X bullets if your gun will shoot them well is unsurrpassed by anything.
