Default 3x9 scope question

i put a simialr post on the blackpowder forum so sorry if your reading this twice. just thought i might get more response here.

Is the only difference between a 3x9 rimfire scope and a regular 3x9 the fact that the rimfire is calibrated to be parralex free at 50 yds. I am wondering b/c i want to put a 3x9 that is on a .22 on my new muzzleloader, but only if the scope can handle the kick. Trying to save money but its not worth a bad shot. thanks for the help

Default RE: 3x9 scope question

Some 22 scopes may hold up on a bigger rifle. I would recommend however that you purchase a scope intended for a shotgun or muzzle loader to put on the smoke pole. Gererally 22 scopes are not made to handle recoil from high power rifles. The eye relief may be to short as well and may be dangerous on a hard kicker.
