I have heard of the new smith and wesson 500 mag. I wondered if anyone has fired one, and if so how much power has it got.

I have one, and they are nuts. The recoil is actually nicer than our .44 magnum, due to the weight balance, the muzzle brake, etc... It is heavy, and not for the meek. There are reloading supplies out for it now, and data is soon to follow. It' s all power man, shot some pumpkins with it last weekend, the .500 won.
The only new cartridge that actually interests me. I want one, but I can' t afford to feed it on factory ammo. Definately a reloader cartridge. Should do really well on boar.
