Default 7MM 08 ???

What are your thoughts on this caliber?

I found a good price and was considering purchasing it.
I have a 270, 7mm mag, and a 308.
Am I waisting my time and money?

You already have three rifles in basically the same category of rifles. Why add another one. None of the three rifles that you already have will do anything that the others can' t do and neither will the 7mm-08.

Personally I would look for a .223, 22-250 for a varmint rifle or go the other way and look for smething along the lines of a .338 or a big bore lever action like a .444 Marlin, 45-70 or 450 MArlin. Spread them out a little.

If you have kids that will be shooting someday or plan on having kids then you absolutely must have a 7mm-08 Rem. That is the excuse I always use anyways and it seems to work so far.

I would never sell any gun unless I somehow obtained a duplicate.
I do have a son whom will hunt in the future.
I have the following rifle collection:
22LR, 22 mag, 223, 270, 7 mm mag, 308 sako (love it), 30.06, 300 wby mag, 35 rem, 50 cal in-line, 54 cal flintlock.

Where do I go from here?
I heard great things about the 7mm 08 but feel that the caliber is covered somewhere in my collection.
Someone mentioned to go beyond the 30' s . Was considering the 35 whelen or a 338. What about a 30-338?
Please help!
