I took my 44. Mag out Sun to sight it in with my new Red Dot sight. Anyhow at 50 yards from the sitting position no rest for the gun just my arms were resting on my knees. I shot 5 shots in a 2in group. Would this be concidered a good group at 50 yards?

yeah thats an excellent group and is proably pushing the limits of the accuracy of the gun. so id say if you wanted to hunt with it id say youd be in good shape

Dad gone, I want you to teach me to shoot. I am in MD also. I would love to see 2" groups freehanded from a 44Mag. Evercome to Hap Baker range in Carroll County? Maybe you could give me some pointers. With that type of shooting, you could be competitive in alot of shoots.
Thats an awesome group for a .44 mag at that range. Definitely hunting accuracy. Hey loghead, how did the deer hunt with that Big Boy go? Loads work through it ok? I am taking off this weekend for the mountains to go see if I can tag a buck with my 45/70. I will only get Saturday and maybe Sunday to hunt, but we have scouted alot and the deer are beginning to lose their minds up there already.
Hey Bigbore...I thought maybe you were off in the woods somewhere.... I' m leaving Friday for Ky for the week to see what I kind find in the woods down there. So I haven' t had a try with it yet. Hope to get a shot at a big one on Saturday. Will let you know next week.

BC I really wasn' t shooting it free handed. I had my arms resting on my knees. I' m not to sure were that range is. I hunt on a farm out in carrol Co. Maybe I could hook up with you out there one time
