Deer hunting from a stand mostly.
I have read too many mixed reviews on savage to buy one.

No need for a heavy barrel for stand hunting...

Tikka = Sako built action, real stainless steel instead of cerakote, detachable box mags instead of an internal box, 60deg bolt throw...

I've owned 2 Howa 1500's and one Vanguard. Nothing wrong, but nothing which made me smile. Owned one T3, an 85, and a Finnfire, never handled a Sako built rifle which didn't make me smile.

Agreed, no real reason to use any heavy rifle for stand hunting. But a guy also doesn't have to pack it very far, so the weight doesn't matter as much stand hunting as it does for a humping rifle.

I appreciate the input guys. So is the tikka worth an extra $300 and is stainless steel better than cerakote
