My normal carry gun is an Kahr MK40, I have the extended magazines to extend the grip, it carries 6+1/ I always carry one or two extra mags. I practicve and I practice drawing and firing since I have to qualify each year to maintain my National carry rights. I dont have any qualms about not having a 15 round magazine, as Bill Hickok said, you can't miss fast enough to make up for poor marksmanship. I remember when we still carried wheel guns, Model 66, then model 686 S&W .357 mags. When we were trying to get the higher ups to authorize speed loaders instead of speed strips one guy made the statement" we should have speed loaders so in case I run out of ammo, the person with me can throw me a new charge. To which I replied,"if you have already wasted 18 rounds, I am not going to throw you six of mine to waste.

A Cz-82 is worth investigating (12 rd., 9x18 Makarov), or its civilian variant the CZ-83.

The CZ-82 is very affordable, too.
