Default Winchester Model 50

Well this is pretty sad! I was looking thru my gun safe (I live in an apartment now and it' s stuck back in the closet) and I found my shotgun. This has been handed down. It' s a Winchester Model 50 12ga. Does anyone know what it might be worth?? Just curious. I have guns in there that I had forgot about! I need to get out more!!![:-]

Is there anyone that knows anything about this gun? Value? If possible years made. A guy that I work with knows a lot about guns but had never heard of a Model 50. Anyone??? Just curious.

The Win model 50 was manufactured from 1954 to 61 and is/was arguably the highest quality auto loading shotgun ever made by Winchester. It was discontinued primarily because of the high cost of manufacturing. Had all machined parts - nothing stamped. It was made in 20 & 12 ga. most were full choke with standard barrel. A few have vented ribs. For some reason they don' t command a huge dollar but there is definitely a collector interest in them. A 20 ga. with a vented rib in top condition would be highly desirable. Assuming your' s is the standard 12 depending on condition it could bring around $300.00 U.S. I definitely would not sell it if I were you. I have an original 27 page loose leaf Winchester Take-Down & Assembly Manual with hand drawn diagrams and printing. If you' re interested in a photocopy and prepared to cover photocopy & postage costs I' ll send you a copy. E-mail me if you are; knipfloyd@rogers.com . gg.

They made five different grades so the value would depend on the model and condition of your gun . They show anywhere from $1250 to $150 .
What I meant by model is standard ,skeet ,trap , pigeon ,and featherweight .

Thanks guys. Most everyone that I have asked about this gun the first thing they say is that it is a pump. I say " No" it' s a semi-auto. Then they say that they have never seen one before. It' s beautiful gun. I would never sell it. It belonged to my ex father in law. I got it after he passed away. It' s in perfect shape. Thanks again.
