It sounds like it, but it really depends on the situation and maybe that's what he meant. I don't clean a barrel internally after the last time I'm at the range until the end of hunting season unless the weather gets nasty and it gets wet. Otherwise, I just remove the bolt to clean it and the exterior metal is wiped off until the firearm is ready to be put back in the safe for the winter. After the last hunt the barrel is cleaned fully along with the entire firearm before it goes in the safe. IMHO more barrels are probably damaged by people that don't know how to clean them properly and do it frequently than ones that aren't cleaned by people that often.

Good video! exactly as I do mine. I like the Boresnakes much better than messing with cleaning rods and patches and all that crap, and I think they are easier on the bore. I normally use Hoppe's also but got a free can of Kroil and have been trying it out, good stuff.
