Default Savage trophy hunter

Hello fellow hunters!

About a year ago I bought a savage axis. It was a killer deal. Although it doesn't have the accu trigger and a stainless barrel.

This gun gave me many problems until my gunsmith took it back and fixed it. I talked to him about upgrading to the trophy hunter 16. He said if I return this rifle and pay an extra 250 I could do that.

At first I was all over it but now (its weird I know)i feel some sort of bond with the rifle because I shot my first deer in 3 years with it. Any opinions? The other rifle is just better quality over all.

Anyone own the trophy hunter and can share things about it?

I don't have the savage but I do own a Remington 710 in .243. Even thought the action is junk, it is the most accurate rifle I have. 5 shots touching at 100 yrds. I own a Remington 700 BDL and I sill like to take my cheap 710 out.

I own one in .270win. Awesome rifle hard to beat. The savage nut allows us that like to tinker do it without paying an arm and a leg for a Gunsmith.
