Default For fun, comparison of 44mag, 454 casull, and 460 s&w.

Shooting coffee cans filled with water. 1st is a 44 mag out of a Ruger Blackhawk with a 6.5" barrel, 240 grain xtp over 11 grains of Unique. 2nd is a 454 Casull from a Smith and Wesson XVR with 8 3/8" barrel, 300 grain jfn buffalo bore. 3rd is a 460 s&w from the Smith XVR, 200 grain ftp Hornady.

Its a blast. The 454 flattened out the can where the 460 blew it to pieces. When i get time i am going to do something similar and start with a 25 acp and go up to the 460.

Water Melons are cool. A 50AE makes a very good watermelon salad.

Not everyday you get a videographic anecdote of a round making a .44mag look like a pop gun, but the .454Casull sure does it!

No wait....

Not everyday you get a videographic anecdote of a round making a .454 Casull look like a pop gun, but the .460S&W sure does it!!!

Definitely paints the picture of what that energy gap means - considering that the .44mag is generally considered to be the maximum potentially manageable round for most shooters.

Yes they do. Watermelons are a hoot to shot with large caliber guns.
