Default reloading the 270 wsm

i just bought a winchester mod 70 in 270 wsm and love it. i do however think i may start to reload since ammo is so expensive. i have never reloaded before and a little apprehensive in doing so. is it fairly easy and what does a guy need to get started?

Default RE: reloading the 270 wsm

t-miller316,

Congrats on the new rifle. Getting started in reloading is not very difficult. However, you mentioned you wanted to save money. Unless you shoot year round and a lot of rounds, reloading will not save or pay for itself. If however you shoot year round and shoot many rounds, or shoot several different guns, especially pistol it will pay for itself.

Getting started:

1. Press
2. Powder measure
3. Powder scale
4. case trimmer
5. dies
6. calipers
7. powder funnel
8. primer seater
9. deburr/chamfer tool
10. primer pocket cleaner
11. reloading book
12. components--brass, bullets, primers, powders
13. case lube

Extra equipment:

1. Case tumblers one for cleaning one for polishing
2. digital powder dispenser
3. bullet seating gauge
4. inside neck cleaner/lubricator
5. progressive press for high volume
