Default Recoil of a Remington 700 Scindero 7mm Ultra Mag

What can be added or changed to this rifle to lower the recoil on this rifle. My wife wants to shoot it and it kicks like a mule. Wit the fluted bull barrel, can a suppression system be added? Also, is there some type of recoil pad that can be added to the stock.

Thanks

Several people can put a muzzle brake on it that will help, and there are a couple of recoil-reducers available on the market.

http://www.probed2000.com/ is a guy that does a good job, but you did not say that the wife wants to hunt with it.

If she just wants to shoot it, without getting creamed...try putting a 10 pound bag of lead shot on her shoulder and use it like a p.a.s.t. shield. That will really dampen the recoil.

limb saver slip on recoil pad. made by sim tech. My buddy got on for his 300 ultra mag. Still scoots you back a little, but it take most of the sting out.
I think eders carrys them.

My wife is only about 5' 4" and petite. She shoots a Winchester Sporter .300, which is a bit lighter than a Sendero.

Before we ever took that thing to the range, we put a gel filled recoil pad (made by KICK EEZ www.kickeez.net ) and a muzzle break on it. I ran a couple of my hotter handloads through it and was very happy with the results.

I have a video of her shooting her first shots with the gun. There is very little muzzle climb and she never complains about going to the range.

Hope this helps.
