Remington Core-Lokt Ultra premium?

Are these rounds worht the extra cost over the standard Core-Lokt? I have a 270, and I' ve been shooting Remington Safari grade 140 grn Swift A-frames, and I really like them. However, tese are getting expensive, and the ballistics look pretty close to this new round remington came out with.

just looking for any input or feedback.

Bersh, I havent shot any game with them yet buy i have switched to the ultra corelokt in my 270. They look like a good bullett and they group good in my gun. A guy last year shot a elk with his 270 using the ultra corelokt bulletts and it was a 1 shot kill and I think he said the bullett mushroomed perfect. Im using them for deer and elk now.

Not for shooting nothing but deer, they' re not. If you decide to shoot elk and bigger stuff, they do have an advantage.[&:]

I personally wouldn' t spend a premium dollar to buy bullets to hunt deer.

Bigger stuff...( and often times more expensive stuff) I' m willing to spend the bucks for something like a Swift A-Frame. However the old core lokt will perform on elk as well. It' s just the margin of improvement that I want when on a hi priced hunt.

One good thing about the ultra corelokt is its still cheaper than most premium bullets and you can use the same bullett for both deer and elk and dont have to worry about siteing in your rifle using 130 grain bullets for deer then resiting it in for 150 bulletts for elk. That gets old. This 140 ultra corelokt is a good inbetween bullett that will work well for both animals. I wouldnt buy premium bulletts to hunt just strictly deer either but when hunting both ill spend a little more. there only about 6 dollars more than the 130 grain federal soft points i use for deer anyway. Were not talking about magnum bullets here that cost 35 dollars a box.
