Default Single point sling mount on OPTIC RAIL: Thoughts?

I've never seen one in use, but I'm intrigued by these single point sling mounts that mount to pic rails. I'm not sure how I feel about the idea, but it seems like it could be a viable option, and would let a guy hang his rifle from a more forward position (compared to an endplate adapter mount). Moving my mount point forward a bit on one of my longer/heavier coyote rigs might help make it balance better for carry, but I'm not sure how I feel about having the sling mounted beneath my scope (naturally on the receiver rail, while my scope is on risers and rings).

Which one? I have always used end plate adapters, like the 2nd item down in the list, but I'm wanting to learn a little more about the rail mounted sling mounts, like the 3rd item down on the list on the magpul site.

I think the balance and handling would be fine, and I think it'd help raise my longer barreled AR's a little higher, but I'd be concerned about it damaging my rail by putting that much stress on it. No, it ain't going to "break", but I'd be concerned about it marring or peening the rail.

I use #2 & #4 on the list (with #1 being the sling itself).

Making the use of both two point or one point carry quick and easy.

If Magpul makes it, I bet it works !
