Default Marlin xs-7 question

Anyone have any experience with them? They are inexpensive, and have some nice features from what I have read. I am thinking one in a 7mm-08.

All reviews I've heard about have been positive.

The other one to look at in that price range in the TC Venture.......................

i have a marlin xl7 in .270. i can only say positive things. it shoots as well as my dads ruger m77. i get 1" groups at 100 yards with 150 gr. rem core lokts. recoil pad is great as well. trigger is smooth and crisp, bolts not as smooth as other guns but that doesn't bother me. you can't go wrong for the price.

Same here - I have an XL7 in 30.06. It's not fancy or expensive, but it shoots great & fills the freezer. If you're looking for a gun to impress your friends, forget about it. If you're looking for a practical, affordable freezer filler, then buy it - you won't be disappointed.

They shoot alright, they have a decent trigger for a factory gun. Put a match grade hunting barrel on one in the factory stock unbedded shot a .322 group at 100 yards with hand loads we where very impressed.
