Default Winchester Western ammo---

I have a new Remington 700 LSS in 06 and have an ammo question--got out to the range today and had a repeat of the last four visits to the range with this gun--one round out of each box of 20 will not chamber--these are the 150 grain factory power points--I'm going to try some Remington and/or Federal next and see how it handles them--no complaints about the accuracy and the remaining 19 in each box chamber just fine, just one out of each box---any ideas? Each one that will not chamber in the Remington, chambers just fine in his Browning B-78 High Wall----what gives ? John

Do you have a micrometer or access to one? If so, measure the rounds .... see what the dimensions are. Should be able to locate spec dimensions on the web. If the one that will not chamber is not "different" from the other 19 or substantially different from the "spec" then I'm a lost as a drunk goose in a blizzard on this one.

Don't have a micrometer, but really checked two of the rounds that wouldn't chamber and the problem was solved, the bullets were not seated to the correct depth in the case---barely enough to detect with the naked eye, but just enough--stood up several on a pane of glass with the suspected rounds in the middle and checked with a straight edge---just enough longer to make the difference in my gun, but my friends single shot had no problem with them at all--I've ordered several boxes of the Remingtons and Federals--I know reloading would also solve the problem, but I just don't shoot the big bores enough to justify buying all the equipment----John
